I’ve been obsessed with crumbles lately. Whenever I want a sweet treat, which is often, they hit the spot. I feel pretty good about eating them, too, since they’re mostly just fruit. Inspired by Martin Sorge’s breakfast crisp (which is a great recipe, too!), I thought I’d turn my favorite dessert into an easy, healthy-ish breakfast. Breakfast is, after all, supposedly the most important meal of the day.
I opted to make a crisp so I could include more nutritious ingredients. Mainly, I wanted to add plenty of oats in the topping. (The main difference between a crisp and crumble is the oats in the topping!)
Whether you’re looking for an easy breakfast to throw together and heat up throughout the week, or if you’re just wondering if breakfast is actually the most important meal of the day, this edition has something for you.
